For the third year in a row local car salesman Jason Vasser will be giving back to the community by providing free meals this Thanksgiving.

Vasser said that in 2022 he had the idea that he wanted to help provide a Thanksgiving blessing and has continued to so since.

This year, Vasser, along with community volunteers, will set up at 1695 County Road 44 in Leesburg, Alabama.   Serving will start at 11 am and will continue until all the food is gone.

Vasser said that he has always loved cooking and wanted to give back to the community that “has given him so much”.

He stated that he had originally planned to cook and serve 50 turkeys, but community members have reached out to him and that number has grown to nearly 75 as of Tuesday..

Last year nearly 700 plates were handed out, this year he hopes to get up to 1,000.  Plates will include green beans, macaroni, numerous other sides, rolls, deserts and drinks.

Vasser, “Anyone can come eat, Just not those in financial need but also those that may not have a families to share the holidays with.   Everything is pre made, pull up and go or they can stay and eat there and help with the cause if they want.”

He also ask that if any homeless shelters would like food delivered.  Vasser said that he would be  happy to have food delivered, all they have to do is reach out.
