The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) awarded a total of 23 projects including rehabilitation, resurfacing, safety, and bridge construction around our area.
A bridge rehabilitation project at various locations on I-75/SR 402 and on SR I-575/SE 417 in Bartow and Cherokee counties will receive approximately $1.4 million.
In Chattooga County, six-and-a-half-miles of resurfacing will be done on State Route 48 and U.S. 27 beginning north of the Chattooga River. The project cost is just over $4.25 million.
Shoulder rehab of 4.3 miles of U.S. 27 beginning north of Gore-Subligna Road and extending south of the Chattooga River will also be completed at a cost of $2.96 million.
Both Chattooga County projects have an estimated completion date of August 31, 2025.

Contractors and consultants, including Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), registered small businesses and veteran-owned small businesses interested in bidding on projects or performing work must prequalify with Georgia DOT.
