The Rome City Commission were split on Tuesday before voting to send two alcohol amendments back to the Alcohol Control Commission.

One of the amendments sent back would be to no longer allow future businesses to use food truck sales to offset their 50-50 food to drink ratio.

The City of Rome requires a 50-50 food to drink ratio for businesses to be allowed to sell distilled spirits.

Several businesses, such as Old Havana Cigar Company, in Rome have been grandfathered in to count items such as cigars to be used for their 50-50 ratio.

Another amendment sent back would prevent the current businesses that are grandfathered in to pass along their license to another location or person.
