Johnny Junior Richardson, 50, and Omoro Herring, 46, both of Rome, were arrested this week after reports said they were found with drugs during a chase on a moped.
Officers said that they attempted to stop Richardson when they observed him driving on the wrong side of North 5th Avenue. Police said that when they attempted to stop Richarson, he fled at a higher rate of speed. After eventually pulling over, Richardson fled on foot into a residential area.
Once apprehended, a search then led officers to find methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.
Both are charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug related objects.
Richardson is additionally charged with obstruction, driving on the wrong side of the roadway and operation of vehicles on approach by emergency vehicles.
