David Ray Smith Sr, 47 of Rome, was jailed this week after reports said he broke into a car on Kings Court and stole numerous items and money.
Reports Smith broke into a 2007 Nissan Altima and stole a wallet, bank card, between $50-$100 in cash, drivers license, social security card and various other items totaling $150 in value.
Smith then proceeded to use the bank card at two separate locations making $91.53 in purchases.
While being taken into custody, officers said that they found the victim’s wallet and other stolen possessions on him.
Smith is charged with two counts of financial transaction card theft, entering an automobile with intent to commit a crime, and two counts of probation violation.
