David Robert Masters, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attacked police officers during an investigation into an incident at a restaurant on Shorter Avenue.
Police said that Masters acted in a tumultuous manner towards restaurant patrons and then ran away on foot.
Reports added that Masters entered the roadway and was nearly struck by oncoming traffic.
Officers went on to say that when they located Masters he was under the influence of alcohol and began to kick them while being taken into custody.
Masters is charged with pedestrian under the influence of alcohol, pedestrian walking on roadway, disorderly conduct, felony obstruction, simple battery against a police officer, and two counts obstruction.
