Jaythan James Wright, 20 of Lindale, was arrested this week after reports said he kicked a police officer in the face while being taken into custody for theft.
Reports stated that Wright stole a camera from the front of a victim’s home on Pullen Road.
Officers said that the camera was found in his possession when they began to place him in their custody.
The officer suffered a visible injury to his face from the kick.
Wright is charged with battery, theft by taking and felony obstruction.
