Phillip Joseph Tardy, 35 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he pulled a gun on another man before dragging him with his car.

Report said that he illegally drove to the home on Freeman Ferry Road and was then asked to leave.  Tardy then is accused of pulling a gun and pointing it at the man while sitting in his car.  The victim then reached into the vehicle in an effort to get the gun away from Tardy.  However, Tardy then accelerated the vehicle with the victim still partially in the window.

While being taken into custody, Tardy allegedly told the officer that there was no gun.  However, he later admitted to taking the gun back to his home after the altercation.

Tardy is charged with aggravated assault, false statements and writings, battery, criminal trespass, driving on a suspended license, failure to appear and reckless driving.
