Joshua Dante Wade, 34 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he led police on a chase before abandoning his vehicle allowing it to wreck near Head Street.
Officers said that the events began when they attempted to stop Wade for having an obscured license plate and failing to maintain his lane of travel.
Wade then refused to stop despite officers using both sirens and blue lights.
After eventually jumping out of his vehicle and fleeing on foot, Wade was eventually captured and taken into custody. A search then resulted in officers finding Percocet and Adderall not in their original container.
Wade is charged with attempting to elude police, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, drugs not in original container, driving on a suspended license, obstruction, display of license plates, failure to maintain lane and reckless driving.
