Johnathan Nelson Starnes, 31 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found driving impaired and in possession of various drugs.
Police said that Starnes left the roadway, and drove through a grassy median before driving on the wrong side of the roadway and having an accident.
Officers said that after being pulled over, Nelson admitted to have smoked marijuana prior to getting behind the wheel.
Starnes is charged with DUI, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, driving on a divided highway, driving on the wrong side of the road and failure to maintain lane.
