Waschunn Keyatta Wofford Sr, 46 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he attempted to dump drugs out of a car during a chase along Turner McCall Blvd.
Officers said that they attempted a traffic stop on Turner McCall Blvd near Cooper Street after they observed Wofford failing to maintain his lane. However, instead of stopping, Wofford ignored lights and continued driving.
While coming to the intersection of East 8th Street, police said they observed Wofford discard items out of the driver’s window. Officers later recovered two baggies of methamphetamine at the drop location.
After eventually stopping near East 12th Street, police said that they found a digital scale near the stopping point
Wofford is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, tampering with evidence, abandonment of dangerous drugs, possession of drug related objects, failure to maintain lane and operation of an unsafe vehicle.
