Alex Lamar Poole, 32 of Leesburg, was jailed in Rome after reports said he stole a 2022 Kis KS vehicle from a location on John Davenport Drive.
Police said that after taking the car he drove it across state lines to Cherokee County, Alabama.
Poole is charged with theft by taking and failure to appear.
