Floyd County Police arrested a man at Armuchee Primary School during the afternoon release on Wednesday.
Floyd County Schools sent out a Parent Square message around 4 pm that detailed the events that went on at the school.
The announcement from the schools said that at 2:45 PM, “a gentleman, who was not armed or dangerous, entered the foyer and attempted to check out his child. ” The notification went on to say that “Prior to this, law enforcement was aware of active warrants for this gentleman and school resource officers had made staff aware of the status of this person. SROs were asked to be notified if the gentleman arrived on campus.”
When the suspect arrived on scene the car rider line was delayed in an effort to keep students away from the interaction.
