Keonta Latimore, 19, and Cynthia Ward, 23, both of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said they abandoned a three-month old child in order to “go do drugs”.
Reports said that the couple failed to provide formula, diapers or clothing when leaving the child at a home on Stubbs Street.
Investigators added that they discovered that the three had been living in a van outside a home down the street.
Officers went to the van and in the process observed roaches crawling all over.
When the child was taken to the grandmother’s home by police, she told authorities that “she did not need all this” and could not take care of the child due to her just finishing a case with DFACs herself.
Both are charged with abandonment of child.
