Vicente Zaqueo Dionicio Gonzalez, 28 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he purposely ran over a dog and then drug it down Addington Drive.

Police said that Gonzalez hit the dog while it was standing in the middle of the roadway and then failed to stop for help.  He then proceeded to drag the dog with his SUV while it was stuck underneath.

Gonzalez is also charged with running a stop sign while the dog was attached to his bumper.   

Vicente is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, stop sign violation, failure to maintain lane and driving without a license.
