Anthony Curt Duran, 36 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he shoved a 41year-old woman down onto a couch.
Reports added that the victim told police that she was in fear for her safety.
The incident occurred at a home on Burnett Ferry Road.
Duran is charged with simple battery.
