Christopher Eugene Cosby, 46 of Rockmart, was arrested in Rome after reports said he attempted to choke his girlfriend during a verbal dispute on Winding Road.
Police reported that the victim had visible marks around her neck when they arrived.
Cosby is charged with battery.
