Mr. James William Callahan, age 68, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at a local hospital.

                Mr. Callahan was born in Floyd County, Georgia on February 13, 1956, son of the late James Junior Callahan and the late Bobbie Jo McBurnett Dalrymple.  He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Vickie Pegg and Martha Ann Callahan, and by two brothers, Dennis Callahan and Larry Dalrymple.  Mr. Callahan was a farmer and was a member of Renovation Church.  He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved hunting turkey and deer.

                Survivors include his wife, Bedelia; three sons, Ronnie Callahan (Deborah), Donnie Callahan (Judy), and Zachary Callahan; three stepdaughters, Samantha Cherbony, Chasity Perkins, and Erika Boozer; a sister, Kathy Underwood; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a special buddy, James Dillon; nieces and nephews.

                A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 11am in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Clifford Free officiating.

                The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Thursday from 10am until the service time.
