A convicted child molester was arrested last week by Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputies and charged with probation violation and failure to register correctly as a sex offender.
Twenty-one-year-old Dexter Dakota Blackmon was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on the charges and was additionally charged with felony interference with government property.
Blackmon was first convicted of child sex crimes when he was sixteen-years-old after Chattooga County Sheriff’s investigators discovered he had molested several young family members.
Blackmon was tried as an adult due to the heinous nature of the crimes. Blackmon was sentenced for forty years of probation in connection with the original charges.
