According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, deputies and investigators were recently called to an address about a burglary. Investigators and deputies quickly developed a suspect, went to his house, and later retrieved all the stolen items. Warrants were then obtained for Emanuel Heath Kiser, 47 of Cedar Bluff, for Burglary 3rd, Theft of Property 1st, and Criminal Mischief 2nd.

The following day, investigators went to Kiser’s residence to arrest him. While on the scene, someone called 911 and reported a man matching Kiser’s description coming out of the lake and possibly attempting to hide in their yard.

Investigators arrived on the scene, saw Kiser, and observed Kiser stealing a boat to elude them.

As Kiser began crossing the lake, citizens offered investigators Jet Skis to get across the lake.

Investigators crossed the lake and took Kiser into custody after a lengthy chase on foot.

Kiser was additionally arrested for Theft of Property 1st, Criminal Mischief 1st, and Attempt to Elude.
