Victor James Crowder, 63 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was caught stealing items at Sam’s Club.

Police said Crowder concealed two items in a computer bag and attempted to exit the store without paying.

Officers added that when they went to make contact with Crowder he fled on foot.  He was captured after a short chase.

The items stolen and then recovered were a watch and a binder.  The total value was $29.46.

Crowder is charged with two counts of theft by shoplifting, obstruction and probation violation.
