Deryan Tyrek Almond, 27 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he imprisoned and beat the mother of his child.
Police stated that Almond, a convicted felon, held a firearm to prevent the woman from leaving the Reservoir Street home.
He is also accused of slamming the victim’s head int a door, resulting in visible injuries.
The incident occurred in front of the couple’s 8 month-od daughter.
Almond is charged with battery, simple assault, 3rd degree cruelty to children, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violation.
