Today Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful unveiled a stunning new mural on the AdventHealth ECO Greenway enriching the landscape with vibrant artistry. The mural, meticulously crafted by local artist Renee Peterson of Peachie Queen Art, was officially revealed to the public amidst a gathering of community leaders and supporters.

Hannah Bagley, coordinator for Keep Rome Floyd Beautiful, expressed her long-standing goal to integrate art into area trails and green spaces. “Art has a unique ability to elevate our surroundings,” Bagley noted, “and this mural next to our pollinator garden is a perfect synergy of art and nature.” She extended her gratitude to the city and county for their steadfast support of such initiatives.

Renee Peterson, the creative force behind the mural, dedicated over 60 hours meticulously layering paints, delicately crafting a visual narrative where nature emerges as the focal point against a soft backdrop of natural hues. Peterson, reflecting on this ambitious project shared, “This mural was deeply personal to me. I love my community, and I wanted this mural to be not just beautiful, but meaningful—a testament to the natural beauty that surrounds us.”

Garrett Nudd, President  of AdventHealth Georgia Foundation, representing the greenway’s named partner, AdventHealth Redmond, shared after the unveiling, “Public art installations are such a great way to enhance the community and ultimately help people feel whole,” Nudd said. “We love the holistic nature of this this project, from spurring community connections in the planning and creation of the art, to fostering a positive experience for the viewer as they connect with nature on the greenway.”

The mural now graces the AdventHealth Redmond ECO Greenway, located between the Chieftains Museum and the Ridge Ferry Park Dog Park, serving as a testament to the power of collaboration between artist, community organizations, and local government to enhance public spaces.
