Stevelle Lavelle Henderson, 34 of Rome, was jailed this week after reports said he stole a gun from his elderly mother and then sold it to Cash America Pawn for $200.
Authorities said that the Taurus 357 magnum was taken from under her car seat while she was giving him a ride back on April 6th.
Henderson is charged with felony, theft by taking,, theft by deception, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
