Joshua Cleo Mize, 37 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attempted to choke out a 63 year-old man during an altercation at a home on West Big Indian Trail.
Reports added that the victim was left with visible marks and scratches from the incident.
Mize is charged with aggravated assault and battery.
