Kendall Sebastian Smith, 17 of Kingston, was jailed this week after reports said he led police on a chase along Highway 411 and the connector.

Reports said that the chase began after officers were called to the East Rome Walmart in response to an alleged shoplifter.

Smith is accused of stuffing his pants and pockets with $25.64 worth of items and exiting without paying.

The chase reached speeds of over 150 mph while driving on the wrong side the roadway and passing multiple cars.  He is also accused of running stop signs and redlights.

Smith is charged with theft by shoplifting, attempting to elude police, passing in a no passing zone, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, running a stop sign, failure to obey traffic control devices, driving on wrong side of the roadway and speeding.
