Eldrin JeJuan Hand, 37 of Newnan, was jailed in Rome after reports said he smuggled drugs into the Floyd County Prison.

Reports said that  Hand conspired with Paul Mitchel Lopez, also an inmate at the prison, and Tamara Mitchell to leave contraband at a detail location to be smuggled into the prison.  During a video visit,  Hand and Lopez can be seen giving Mitchell directions to the location where the contraband was to be placed.

Mitchell later was recorded acknowledging that the contraband had been placed at the Floyd County Public Works building under a rock near the fence.

Officers later found the contraband, which turned up to be two packages of marijuana that weighed 30.14 grams..

Hand is charged with possession of marijuana, conspiracy to commit a felony, use of a communication facility in commission of a crime involving a controlled substance and items prohibited by an inmate.
