According to Cedar Bluff Police Chief, Jeremy Stepps, earlier this week, Cedar Bluff Police and the Department of Human Resources were contacted after a 3-month-old child was brought in to Atrium Health Floyd Cherokee not breathing.

The staff at Atrium Health revived the child and a helicopter was called in to transport the child to Children’s Hospital/Birmingham.

Doctors told Investigators that the child has severe trauma due to the extent of the injuries that were observed.

After conducting an investigation, Cedar Bluff Police arrested 27-year-old Bobby Mason Honeycutt, who is the father of the child, for Aggravated Child Abuse of a child less than 6 years old.

Honeycutt was transported to the Cherokee County Jail where he remains in custody.

Chief Stepps would like to thank all of the Investigators from the Gadsden State Police Department and also the Alabama State Fire Marshall’s Office.

Chief Stepps would also like to extend his appreciation to all the officers of the Cedar Bluff Police Department for their hard work in this case.
