Amber Maria Baker, 42 of Calhoun, was arrested this week in Rome after reports said she attempted to use an unspecified deadly weapon to beat a man in front of two children.
The victim was left with visible injuries to his neck from the attack.
Baker is also accused of removing her handcuffs after being placed under arrest after being put in the patrol car.
The incident occurred at a home on Everett Springs Road.
Baker is charged with aggravated assault, battery, cruelty to children in the third degree and obstruction.
