Meredith Julean Broxson, 41 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she gave the name of her friend, Janet Elizabeth Gilbert, as her own while being captured shoplifting.
Reports said that Gilbert was falsely arrested in July of last year on a failure to appear charge.
Broxson is charged with identity fraud.
