A 17 year-old Rome teen, Eric Christian Byars Jr, is facing additional charges of breaking into cars and stealing items around Floyd County.

Byars Jr. is now accused of stealing firearms and other items from vehicles on Woodberry Drive, Midland Drive, and Crossridge Drive off Rockmart Road in Silver Creek back in November.

Byars is now charged with an additional six counts of entering an automobile, six counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, four counts of felony theft by taking, and one count of misdemeanor theft by taking.

Eric Christian Byars Jr, 17 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he broke into numerous vehicles around a Silver Creek Subdivision back on November 15th.

Police said that Byars was armed at the time of the robbery after stealing guns from numerous vehicles.

The break-ins occurred on North Terrance Ave, Vann Tassell Drive, South Central Ave, Longbrook Court, Brooke Court, Eden Valley Road and the Jamestown Community.

Reports added that Byars stole and destroyed a laptop, Keltec 9mm handgun, cash, ID cards, a carry permit, sunglasses, a Pepperell letterman jacket and more.

Byars is charged with eleven counts entering an automobile with intent to commit a felony, seven counts felony theft by taking,  five counts misd theft by taking, thirteen counts possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
