Sterling Lester Rowland, 50 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he hit a 47 year-old woman on the forehead with a metal ring.
Police said that the victim was left with swelling from the attack, which occurred at his home on Johns Drive.
Rowland is charged with battery.
