Chance Jabez Donaldson, 20 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found with drugs and a stolen gun during a traffic stop at the intersection of Glenn Milner Blvd and East 2nd Avenue.
Authorities stated that the car Donaldson was a passenger in was stopped for a brake light violation.
However, after a K9 officer alerted on the vehicle a search was conducted and in the process locating a large amount of marijuana, digital scales, packaging materials and a stolen Taurus 9mm handgun under the front passenger’s seat where Donaldson was sitting.
The gun had been reported stolen out of Cherokee County, Al.
Donaldson is charged with possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of a schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, felony theft by receiving stolen property, possession of drug related objects and tampering with evidence.
