Alexis Enrique Martinez, 22 of Ellenwood, was arrested this week after reports said he conspired with another inmate and civilians to sneak methamphetamine, marijuana and tobacco into the Floyd County Prison.
Authorities stated that on July 9, 2023, Martinez was recorded over telephone lines facilitating getting 25.75 grams of meth, 106.8 grams of marijuana and 3 pounds of tobacco placed at a prearranged location for inmates to get and then smuggle back inside the prison.
Officers were able to intercept the contraband before it was retrieved.
Martinez is charged with items prohibited by an inmate, use of a communication facility in commission of a crime involving a controlled substance and conspiracy to violate Georgia controlled substance Act.
