Angela Roxann Coots, 38 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she choked and beat a 16 year-old teen.
Police said that Coots came up from behind the victim and placed them in a chokehold before taking him to the ground. Once on the ground, Coots is accused of repeatedly punching the teen in the face and head area with a closed fist.
The incident occurred at a home on Park Road.
Coots is charged with battery and cruelty to children in 1st degree.
