Christopher Jacob Theobald, 36 of Dallas, was arrested in Rome after reports said he offered someone he thought to be a child money to have sexual relations with him.
He was taken into custody at an arranged meeting spot.
Theobald is charged with aggravated child molestation, use of a computer to solicit a child to commit a felony and sex trafficking.
