Ariel Delania Woodard, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she allowed her child to stay out of school for over 16 days this school year.

Reports stated that Woodard signed a truancy agreement on February 28, 2023 for the remainder of last and the current school year.  Woodard was sent three notification letters for her child’s absences in October 2023 and continuing through November and December as her unexcused absences continued.

Woodward was then sent a letter on January 17th regarding her child’s unexcused absences, which climbed to 16 days this school year.

Since that point, the child has continued to miss days of school.

Woodard is charged with the mandatory education of children.
