Patrick Cortez Turner, 39 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he threatened to kill a woman over text messages before hitting her in the face.
Police stated that the victim suffered a cut to her lip during the incident.
Turner is also accused of following and stalking the woman.
Turner is charged with battery, stalking, terroristic threats/acts and parole violation.
