The cause of the fire that destroyed the former Jockey manufacturing facility in Cedartown is still being investigated.

According to Cedartown Fire Chief Kyle Watters, firefighters spent nearly two day working to extinguish the blaze on the over 110-year-old 210,000-square-foot building.

The fire, which began Tuesday, at the building on West Avenue across from Goodyear Park consumed the entire building that was last reported as an antique flea market.

Authorities said that there was no indication that anyone was in the building at the time of the fire and that no injuries had been reported.

Nearly 100 people in the area were left without power for a number of hours Tuesday before finally being restored by Wednesday morning.

The section of West Avenue between Prior Street and Second Street will be closed until further notice.
