Charles Russell Reams III, 24 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he kidnapped a woman and then used a handgun to beat a woman in the face.
Reams is also accused of placing his hands around her throat in an effort to kill her.
Police stated that Reams held the woman against her will inside a bedroom of a home on Pine Street.
While taking Reams into custody, officers discovered that the gun, a Taurus 9mm Model G2, used in the attack had been reported stolen.
Reams is charged with aggravated assault ,battery, kidnapping, false imprisonment, felony theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
