Kenneth Dewayne Bailey, 60 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he starved and stole from an elderly disabled 71 year-old woman he was supposed to be a caregiver for.
Reports said that Bailey denied the victim medical care while also failing to feed her, resulting in a massive decline in death. When the victim was found, she was discovered with numerous wounds where her body had been stationary for a long period of time.
Bailey is also accused of signing and using checks from the victim’s bank account. A total of 15 checks, $3,095, were written from the account by Bailey to himself.
Bailey is charged with felony theft by taking, 3rd degree forgery, exploitation of the elderly, and neglect of an elder person.
