Jerry Paul Claypool, 58 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found with drugs during a traffic stop on Calhoun Road at GA 1 Loop.

Police said that they stopped Claypool for “abysmal passing” of other vehicles.

During the stop, police stated that they discovered Claypool had been driving on a suspended license and under the influence.

A search then led officers to find 4 prescription pills that were not in their containers in his pocket

Claypool is charged with DUI, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, drugs not in original container, driving without a license and probation violation
