Jaren Whitley Barrett, 35 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he hit his girlfriend in the face during a dispute at a home on Pleasant Valley Road in Silver Creek.
Reports added that the victim was left with a laceration to her lip.
Barrett is charged with battery.
