Rome City Commissioners voted this week to allow a special alcohol pouring day exemption. The board voted to allow businesses that do not meet the food-to-drink ratio to sell alcohol on St. Patrick’s Day, which falls on a Sunday this year.

Super Bowl Sunday was also a recommendation.

Alcohol sales will be permitted between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and midnight on Sunday, March 17.

This marks the second time the commission approved the exception, the last being on New Years Eve last year.
