Coach Cannon’s work ethic, attitude and drive is evident in everything he does and I am excited for him to get here and get to work with our players and students.”

Originally from Marietta, Georgia, Cannon has dedicated the past six seasons serving as the head football coach at Brantley County High School. During his tenure, Cannon successfully guided the Herons to three playoff appearances, a feat that had been achieved only twice in the last 50 years in the program prior to Cannon’s arrival.

Prior to his time at Brantley County, he served as the assistant and running backs coach at Allatoona High School (2017), assistant head football coach and offensive coordinator at Frederica Academy (2013-2017), assistant coach and special teams coordinator at Glynn Academy High School (2005-2013) and assistant coach/9th grade head coach at Kell High School (2002-2005).

“It is such an honor to have been given the opportunity to lead the football program at Coosa High School” said head coach Geoff Cannon. “My family and I look forward to settling in and building lasting relationships in the school community and the community at large. As an educator and coach, I’m excited to join the faculty and athletic staff and get to work building STUDENT-athletes. I am committed to bringing a strong work ethic and contagious enthusiasm to school every day to help us compete at a high level. As a football staff, we will work tirelessly to put a product on the field each and every Friday night that our Coosa community can be proud of.”

Coach Cannon has achieved remarkable success in every program he has been involved in, which includes numerous appearances in the state playoffs, securing one region championship and earning two region runner-up accolades.
