Jimar Antoin Brown, 40 of Cartersville, was arrested in Rome after reports said he led police on a chase at speeds over 103 mph.
Officers said that the chase began when they attempted a road check.
During the chase, Brown allegedly made improper turns, crossed the center line and placed numerous others in danger of their lives.
After eventually stopping, Brown refused to show his hands and then climbed in the backseat of the car claiming he was not the driver of the vehicle.
A search of the car also resulted in police finding a bag of methamphetamine.
Brown is charged with possession of methamphetamine, obstruction, driving on a suspended license, attempting to elude police, improper turning, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, improper lane change, too fast for condition, speeding, operation of an unsafe vehicle and failure to obeyed authorities person directing traffic.
