A Gordon County deputy sheriff recently on patrol observed an automobile travelling at a high rate of speed (in excess of 90 m.p.h.) on the South Calhoun Bypass (in unincorporated Gordon County). The deputy attempted to stop the car and after a short pursuit the speeding automobile yielded.
The deputies subsequently proceeded to conduct a search of the vehicle which yielded several pounds of methamphetamine.
The driver, identified as one Jonathan Samano ,age 22 of 108B Oak Hill Drive, Calhoun, and the passenger, Lacey Hall, age 21 of 431 Jolly Road, Calhoun were both arrested without incident and charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and related offenses.
They both remain in jail pending court appearance. This was a significant interruption to the flow of illegal methamphetamine, and the investigation remains active and ongoing by the Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit.
