Jeremy Wade Beach, 47 of Rome, was arrested for drug trafficking after police said they found him in possession of approximately 4 pounds of methamphetamine.
Reports said that they found the drugs packaged in individual baggies.
While being taken into custody, Beach allegedly attempted to flee on foot and then resisted being handcuffed when captured.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Chateau Drive and Ga 20.
Beach is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, trafficking meth, possession of drug related objects, parole violation and obstruction.
