Jamal Dakota Jackson, 22 of Lindale, was arrested this week after reports said he struck another person in the face with the magazine well of a handgun.
The victim suffered a visible laceration from the attack.
The incident occurred at a home on Avenue D.
Jackson is charged with aggravated assault.
