Trenton Darvier Davis, 22 of Lindale, was arrested this week after a traffic stop on North Avenue led police to find him in possession of a stolen handgun.

Police said that they pulled Davis over for driving without his headlights on.  When they asked if he had any firearms in his possession he handed over a Glock pistol.

It was then discovered that the handgun had been reported stolen.  Davis told authorities that he had purchased the gun from another person for $400.

A search of the vehicle then resulted in police finding a spent 9mm shell casing in the driver’s door along with additional live ammunition.

Davis is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and improper headlights.
